Someone spotted Wayne on the Highway and called AWARE. He was lucky to be alive, and if the person hadn’t seen him, or hadn’t called AWARE, he wouldn’t have been. Members of staff went down and brought him back in a wheelbarrow. One eye was hanging out, and he couldn’t walk. Youth is on his side, too, and although his eye had to be surgically removed, his neurological damage has all but healed and now, a mere 3 weeks after being hit by speeding traffic on the Highway and left for dead, he is going out for walks and romping through the woods with his pen-mates.
