Seeing a cat or dog find a family and happily go to their new loving home is one of my favourite parts of working at AWARE. The excited wagging tail or purrs and look of happiness when they connect with a person is beautiful. It is hard to say goodbye but at the same time, is the best feeling knowing they will get the love and care they deserve and a new start in life in the comfort of a good home.
This past week 4 of the AWARE family were adopted:
2 kittens-Trinity the fluffy black cutie and Solai’s daughter, also 2 dogs- our lovely Inez finally has a wonderful home, many of you have followed her recovery story, she is such a sweetheart who came in injured and unable to walk but has a lovely temperament and real determination. Through therapy she has made remarkable progress and is now walking, no doubt she will continue to shine at home with her new family. Also Nattaly is going to Canada with our fantastic volunteer Peggy, the two bonded whilst here and they are perfect together.
It is so rewarding to see these beautiful animals fight against the odds, leave behind a rough past and blossom with care and treatment at the shelter; then get adopted and have a fresh new start and enjoy life and happiness with their family. It is also thanks to YOU our supporters, without your help and donations, Animal AWARE could not continue to rescue and care for animals in need. We could not continue our clinics and education to promote animal welfare, protect, and reduce the suffering of domestic animals in Guatemala. YOUR help and donations are what make it possible!
