She, like many dogs in Latin America, was born and survived on the streets of Guatemala. She was rescued and arrived at a shelter where she lives with other dogs. She is in a cage with her siblings.
The veterinary student who cares for the dogs at the shelter noticed that she was limping and walking with difficulty. The vet’s evaluation revealed a massive tumor on her back, one that had to be removed immediately to give her any chance at life. The surgery was complex and urgent. Her vet stay has been long, and her care intensive, but this brave girl is pulling through.
